Family Room in Paris: Triple, Quadruple, or Two Rooms?

Whether there are three or four of you, with a baby or teens: which room should you book in Paris? Room layouts, sizes, and Korner hotels that are family-friendly.
For a family of three, a triple room is sufficient: a double bed for the parents and a single bed for the child. For a family of four with two children, you’ll need a quadruple or family room, which are less common in 3-star Parisian hotels and are often booked first for the summer. With teenagers or among adults, two rooms are often more comfortable. At Korner, six of our thirteen hotels offer rooms for four people, and most have triple rooms.
How many people can stay in a hotel room in Paris?
Rooms in Paris are compact: in a 3-star hotel, a double room is often between 10 and 13 m². Each room has a maximum occupancy set by the hotel, including children. That’s why you must specify the exact number of guests when booking: the room type offered and the price depend on this.
A child added on the day of arrival may not always be able to stay in the originally booked room. It's better to book the right room configuration from the start than to rely on a last-minute solution.
Triple, quadruple, family: the available configurations
- Triple room with one double bed and one single bed: the classic setup for two parents and one child.
- Triple room with three single beds: ideal for three adults, a group of friends, or a parent with two older children.
- Quadruple or family room with one double bed and two single beds: designed for two adults and two children.
- Family room with two double beds: an option for four people, including teenagers.
- Two bedrooms: a double for the parents and a twin for the children—ideal for teenagers or for maintaining a little privacy.

Which neighborhood should you choose when traveling with your family?
The right neighborhood depends on the children's ages and their daily schedule.
- If you have young children, the Saint-Marcel neighborhood is a safe bet: the Jardin des Plantes, its menagerie, and the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution are just a few minutes' walk away.
- When it comes to the Eiffel Tower and the Champ-de-Mars, the 15th arrondissement offers quiet streets and plenty of space to stroll: see what to do around the Eiffel Tower.
- For shopping and the grand boulevards, the 2nd arrondissement puts the department stores and the historic center within walking distance: see what to do around the Korner Opéra.
- For teens, Montmartre and République offer the kind of lively atmosphere they love: check out what to do around Korner Montmartre and our recommendations around République.
- For the Arc de Triomphe and Parc Monceau, the 17th arrondissement offers a good balance between tranquility and easy access: see what to do around Porte de Champerret.

What about with a baby?
Please let us know when you make your reservation. A travel crib can quickly take up a lot of space in a Parisian hotel room, and the hotel needs to verify that the room you’ve chosen can accommodate it. Some of our hotels, such as the Korner Montparnasse, provide baby gear free of charge: please request it before your arrival so that it will be ready for you.
When should you book your summer vacation?
Each hotel has only a few family rooms, and these are the first to sell out for July and August. Families visiting in the summer often book several months in advance, as early as winter or early spring.
Booking early doesn't necessarily commit you to anything: unless otherwise specified, a direct reservation at the flexible rate can be canceled or modified at no charge up to 12:00 p.m. on the day before arrival. And when you book on our website, you pay up to 15% less than on third-party platforms—a difference that really adds up over several nights in a family room.
Are there more of you?
Blended families, cousins, vacations involving multiple households: For groups needing more than three rooms, our dedicated service will create a customized package, which may be spread across several of our nearby hotels. Visit our group reservations page.
