Family-friendly accommodations in Paris: a triple room, a quadruple room, or two rooms?

Whether you're traveling as a couple, a group of four, with a newborn, or with older children: Which room should you book in Paris? Room layouts, sizes, and Korner hotels that are family-friendly.
For a family of three, a triple room is sufficient: a double bed for the parents and a single bed for the child. For a group of four with two children, you’ll need a quadruple or family room, which are rarer in 3-star Parisian hotels and are often the first to be booked for the summer. With teenagers or among adults, two rooms are often more comfortable. At Korner, six of our thirteen hotels offer rooms for four people, and most have triple rooms.
How many people can sleep in a hotel room in Paris?
Rooms in Paris are compact: in a 3-star hotel, a double room often measures between 10 and 13 m². Each room has a maximum occupancy set by the hotel, including children. For this reason, you must specify the exact number of guests at the time of booking: the room type offered and the price depend on this.
An additional child added on the day of arrival may not always be accommodated in the reserved room. It's better to book the right room configuration right away than to rely on a last-minute solution.
Triple, quadruple, family: the possible configurations
- Triple room with one double bed and one single bed: the classic setup for two parents and one child.
- Triple room with three single beds: ideal for three adults, a group of friends, or a parent with two older children.
- Quad or family room with one double bed and two single beds: designed for two adults and two children.
- Family room with two double beds: an option for four people, including teenagers.
- Two bedrooms: one double for the parents and one twin for the children—ideal for families with older children or for maintaining a little privacy.

Which neighborhood should you choose when traveling with your family?
The right neighborhood depends on the children's ages and the day's schedule.
- If you have young children, the Saint-Marcel neighborhood is a safe bet: the Jardin des Plantes, its menagerie, and the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution are just a few minutes' walk away.
- For the Eiffel Tower and the Champ-de-Mars, the 15th arrondissement offers quiet streets and plenty of space for strolling: check out what to do around the Eiffel Tower area.
- For shopping and the Grands Boulevards, the 2nd arrondissement puts the department stores and the historic center within walking distance: check out what to do around the Korner Opéra.
- For teens, Montmartre and République offer the kind of fun they love: check out what to do around Korner Montmartre and our recommendations around République.
- For the Arc de Triomphe and Parc Monceau, the 17th arrondissement offers a good balance between tranquility and quick access: check out what to do around Porte de Champerret.

What about with a newborn?
Please let us know when you make your reservation. A travel crib takes up quite a bit of space in a Parisian hotel room, and the hotel needs to verify that the room you’ve chosen can accommodate it. Some of our hotels, such as the Korner Montparnasse, provide baby equipment free of charge: please request it before your arrival so it will be ready for you.
When should you book your summer vacation?
Each hotel has only a few family rooms, and these are the first to sell out for July and August. Families who visit in the summer often book several months in advance, as early as winter or early spring.
Booking early doesn't necessarily commit you to anything: barring special conditions, a direct booking at a flexible rate can be canceled or modified at no cost until 12:00 p.m. on the day before arrival. And when you book on our website, you pay up to 15% less than on third-party platforms—a difference that really adds up when you're staying in a family room for multiple nights.
Are there more of you?
Extended families, cousins, vacations with multiple families: if you need more than three rooms, our dedicated service will put together a single package for you, which may be split among several of our nearby hotels. Visit our group booking page.
