Family Room in Paris: Triple, Quadruple, or Two Rooms?

Whether you're traveling as a couple, a family of four, with a baby, or with teenagers: Which room should you book in Paris? Room layouts, sizes, and Korner hotels tailored to families.
For a family of three, a triple room is sufficient: a double bed for the parents and a single bed for the child. For a family of four with two children, you’ll need a quadruple or family room, which are harder to find in 3-star hotels in Paris and are often the first to be booked for the summer. With teenagers or among adults, two rooms are usually more comfortable. At Korner, six of our thirteen hotels offer rooms for four people, and most have triple rooms available.
How many people can stay in a hotel room in Paris?
Rooms in Paris are compact: in a 3-star hotel, a double room typically measures between 10 and 13 m². Each room has a maximum occupancy set by the hotel, including children. That’s why you must specify the exact number of guests when booking: the room type offered and the price depend on it.
A child added on the day of arrival may not always be able to stay in the originally booked room. It's better to book the right room configuration from the start than to rely on a last-minute solution.
Triple, quadruple, family: the possible configurations
- Triple room with one double bed and one single bed: the classic setup for two parents and one child.
- Triple room with three single beds: ideal for three adults, a group of friends, or a parent with two older children.
- Quadruple or family room with one double bed and two single beds: designed for two adults and two children.
- Family room with two double beds: an option for four people, including teenagers.
- Two bedrooms: one double for the parents and one twin for the children—ideal for teenagers or for maintaining some privacy.

Which neighborhood should you choose when traveling with your family?
The right neighborhood depends on the children's ages and their daily schedule.
- If you have young children, the Saint-Marcel neighborhood is a safe bet: the Jardin des Plantes, its zoo, and the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution are just a few minutes' walk away.
- Home to the Eiffel Tower and the Champ-de-Mars, the 15th arrondissement offers quiet streets and plenty of space for strolling: see what there is to do around the Korner Eiffel.
- For shopping and the Grands Boulevards, the 2nd arrondissement puts the department stores and the historic center within walking distance: see what there is to do around the Korner Opéra.
- For teenagers, Montmartre and République have the kind of atmosphere they like: check out what to do near Korner Montmartre and our recommendations around République.
- Home to the Arc de Triomphe and Parc Monceau, the 17th arrondissement offers a good balance between tranquility and easy access: see what there is to do around Porte de Champerret.

What about with a baby?
Please specify this when making your reservation. A travel crib takes up quite a bit of space in a Parisian hotel room, and the hotel needs to verify that the room you’ve chosen can accommodate it. Some of our hotels, such as the Korner Montparnasse, provide baby supplies free of charge: please request them before your arrival so they’ll be ready for you.
When should you book your summer vacation?
Each hotel has only a few family rooms, and these are the first to sell out for July and August. Families who visit in the summer usually make reservations several months in advance, starting in the winter or early spring.
Booking early doesn't necessarily commit you: unless otherwise specified, a direct reservation with a flexible rate can be canceled or modified at no charge until 12:00 p.m. on the day before arrival. And when you book on our website, you pay up to 15% less than on third-party platforms—a difference that adds up to several nights in a family room.
Are there more?
Blended families, cousins, vacations involving multiple households: for groups of three or more rooms, our dedicated service will create a customized package, which may be spread across several of our nearby hotels. Visit our group reservations page.
