Hotels Near Gare de Lyon and Gare d'Austerlitz: Where to Stay

First train of the day or arriving late at night? Here are our recommendations for places to stay near Gare d'Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon—without having to sleep right in front of the station.
For Gare d'Austerlitz, the Korner Saint-Marcel is about a ten-minute walk away, or one stop on Line 5. For Gare de Lyon, the Korner Châtelet is just one stop away on Line 14 or the RER A, which is usually faster than staying right next to the station. In both cases, you’ll be staying in a pleasant neighborhood rather than right across from the station, where hotels rely on passing travelers and charge accordingly.
Two neighboring stations, two uses
Gare de Lyon is the station for TGV trains bound for Lyon, the Alps, Provence, the French Riviera, and Switzerland. It is served by Metro lines 1 and 14 and RER lines A and D.
Austerlitz Station serves Intercités trains bound for central and southwestern France, as well as the main overnight trains. It is served by Metro lines 5 and 10 and the RER C.
The two stations are across from each other, on opposite sides of the Seine: it takes about ten minutes to walk from one to the other.

For Gare de Lyon: two options
Stay as close as possible on foot

Staying downtown, just one stop away
Our hotel near the Marais, on Avenue Victoria, is just a short walk from the Châtelet station. Line 14 and the RER A take you to Gare de Lyon in just one stop, in a matter of minutes. You’ll stay in the heart of Paris, between Notre-Dame, the Marais, and the Louvre, and you’ll reach your TGV without any stress.
Line 14 also connects Châtelet and Gare de Lyon directly to Orly Airport: a convenient option for a trip that combines air and rail travel. Our guide to getting to your hotel from CDG or Orly details all the routes.
For an early-morning train
The metro resumes service around 5:30 a.m. For a very early departure, choose a hotel from which you can walk to the station, or book a taxi. The night before, check your platform number on the SNCF app and make sure your tickets are accessible offline.
If your train leaves in the afternoon, make the most of your last morning in Paris: our hotels will store your luggage for free after you check out of your room, which is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
For an arrival at the end of the day
A late-night TGV or a delayed train is no problem: most of our hotels have a 24-hour front desk, and our digital check-in process allows you to check in without waiting. Simply provide your estimated arrival time when making your reservation.
When to Book
Around the Gare de Lyon and the Gare d'Austerlitz, hotel demand rises during school vacation periods—in winter, when people head to the Alps, and in summer, when they head south—as well as during long weekends. Outside of these periods, booking one or two weeks in advance is usually sufficient; for a vacation, however, you should plan to book two or three months in advance.
